The Turnout Engine uses a purple to blue strategy of turning Democrats out to vote in swing races to win back the U.S. House and Senate in 2026. The Engine is from the people at Eastern Washington Voters. We “cut our teeth” on Eastern Washington. Now, we are using our data-driven strategies to win races around the country.
Our main tool this year is using volunteers to handwrite postcards. According to research, these are often the most effective way to turn out voters, says our founder Bryan E. Burke, Ph.D. We also help other voter turnout efforts around the country with technical assistance and best practices.
The Turnout Engine is research driven. Our efforts are closely aligned with the Center for Voter Research and the Analyst Institute. We work smarter, not just harder.
