The Turnout Engine uses a purple to blue strategy of turning Democrats out to vote in swing races to win back the U.S. House and Senate in 2026. The Engine is from the people at Eastern Washington Voters. We “cut our teeth” on Eastern Washington. Now, we are using our data-driven strategies to win races around the country.
Our main tool this year is postcards handwritten by volunteers. According to research this is often the most effect way to turnout voters , says our founder Bryan Burke, Ph.D..
We are on track to write 30,000 postcards. According to our research, this will turn out 500 additional Democratic voters. However, with additional financial support, we could generate 100,000 handwritten postcards for an 1,700 Democratic votes in competitive U.S. House and Senate races around the country.
We turn out Democratic voters in purple areas of the country on the cusp of voting for Democrats and turning blue. These are U.S. House and Senate races in Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, and Alaska and possible races in Ohio, Iowa, Texas, Georgia, and Arizona.
We are research driven. Our efforts are closely aligned with the Center for Voter Research and the Analyst Institute. We work smarter, not just harder.
